This study guide was developed for Middle Tennessee State University students taking AERO 2710 sUAS Remote Pilot Certification or AERO 2715 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Certification. It can also be used by anyone interested in preparing to take the Unmanned Aircraft General (UAG) knowledge test. This study guide provides content, videos, and interactive study questions for each section/task to help you prepare for the UAG.

This study guide uses the references, learning objectives, and knowledge requirements presented in the FAA-S_ACS-10B  Remote Pilot – Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Airman Certification Standards (ACS). The study guide follows the same structure as the Remote Pilot ACS. Feel free to study the content in the order that will best suit your learning. An issue with FAA documents is the numerous links to other regulations or documents causing the reader to open multiple sources to understand the topic. This study guide is designed to bring all the Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems regulations, references, and study material into one document. It contains videos and sample questions like those on the FAA’s Unmanned Aircraft General (UAG) knowledge test.

This study guide is divided into seven parts, with an appendix offering additional content from the Remote Pilot ACS. Parts I through V are organized in alignment with the Remote Pilot ACS. Part VI, titled “Learner Resources,” includes links to FAA and third-party websites where you can access sample questions similar to those on the UAG knowledge test. Part VII, “Educator Resources,” provides tools to help you create your own Remote Pilot Certification course. These resources include a sample syllabus, presentation slide decks, and reference materials.

Built over six years by a team of VCU faculty and students, this French textbook is intentionally communicative in design. It targets French language learning that is moving from the novice high to the intermediate low/mid range of proficiency (NCSSFL-ACTFL) or from the A2 to the B1-B2 CEFR level. Given that this level  of language acquisition involves mainly sentence level communications dealing with routine, everyday situations, the four units in this etextbook review and deepen skills and strategies across the three modes of communication, interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational as well as deepening intercultural competencies.  The units progress through:  presenting oneself and deepening one’s notions of bilingual, intersectional identity; engaging in written, oral, and mediated dialogues and exchanges on topics of personal interest; deepening knowledge of the perspectives, products and practices of one or more francophone cultures and comparing them to the home culture; and, finally, mapping one’s linguistic and cultural competencies onto the individual student’s future professional and personal vision of a potential future.

This collection features essays, case studies, and pedagogical approaches that explore how educators managed the privacy, security, and safety concerns that rushed into our lives as we shifted into emergency remote learning in 2020. While the COVID-19 pandemic brought this concern into focus, privacy issues with online learning continue to exist alongside us and our students.

This book provides readers insight into the current state of privacy issues, describes the challenges and rewards of developing more privacy-focused learning environments, and presents several resources and tools that readers can bring to their own teaching practices.

Representing a variety of perspectives from K-12, higher education, and libraries, contributors describe the challenges they encountered and offer solutions to help ensure the safekeeping of students’ online lives. How do we navigate these online environments, who collects our data, and how can we protect our most vulnerable populations?
