Revisions in the Second Edition
Major Revisions from the First Edition to the Second Edition of Introduction to Nutrition and Wellness
The second edition of Introduction to Nutrition and Wellness includes substantial revisions to improve readability, update content to reflect current nutrition recommendations, and enhance accessibility. Major changes, including the adoption of the 2025–2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, the separation of vitamin and mineral content into two chapters, and streamlining of several chapters, and the addition of a new appendix on meal prepping.
Additional Structural Changes
- The original book was divided into twelve “Units,” and we changed the term to “Chapters” for this edition.
- The first edition grouped vitamins and minerals by functional categories. In this edition, we have devoted Chapter 8 to the vitamins and Chapter 9 to minerals and water.
- Numerous figures, tables, examples, accessibility features, and web resources were updated throughout the text.
- End-of-chapter review questions were updated.
